With an 8,000 VA / 8,000 W rating, this UPS leverages online double-conversion technology to provide continuous, clean power, ensuring critical systems remain protected from power disturbances. It operates efficiently across a wide voltage input range of 176–288 VAC, allowing for consistent performance even with fluctuations, while achieving up to 98% efficiency in ECO mode. The unit's unity power factor design further enhances power support, optimizing capacity and minimizing space requirements.

This UPS is designed for easy integration and comprehensive remote management, featuring an intuitive LCD interface for on-site monitoring, configuration, and diagnostics. Remote management is enabled via an optional Vertiv RDU101 communications card, which is compatible with Vertiv™ Power Insight software, environmental sensors, and Vertiv™ LIFE™ Services. The GXT5-8000HVRT5UXLN also supports scalable runtime with external battery cabinets, which adjust automatically to report available power, offering flexibility for extended backup needs. With its built-in maintenance bypass and advanced overload protection, this UPS ensures resilient, uninterrupted power for mission-critical applications.

To start the UPS:

Check the Maintenance Bypass: Ensure the maintenance bypass switch is in the open (off) position, and verify that the guard is securely in place.
Verify Emergency Power Off (EPO) Connection: Confirm that the REPO connector at the rear of the unit has a jumper between pins 7 and 8, or ensure it is correctly wired to a normally closed Emergency Power Off circuit.
Power Source Preparation: Ensure the breaker supplying power to the UPS is closed. If needed, press the input circuit breaker reset buttons located on the rear of the UPS.
Set Output Breakers: Close all output breakers on the rear of the UPS or in an external panel board if one is used.
External Battery Cabinets (if attached): If external battery cabinets are connected, close the breakers on the rear of each cabinet.
Power On the UPS: Press and hold the Power button on the operation and display panel until a confirmation dialog appears. Use the Up/Down arrows to select YES, then press Enter.
First-Time Startup Configuration: For initial setup, the Start-up Guidance wizard will launch. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up the basic operating parameters of the UPS.

Shutdown Instructions for the Vertiv™ Liebert® GXT5-8000HVRT5UXLN UPS:

Initiate Shutdown: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds.
Select Shutdown Mode: If the UPS is functioning normally without any faults, a menu will appear with two options:
- Turn to Bypass – to transfer power to bypass mode.
- Turn Off UPS – to power down the unit completely.
Confirm Choice: Use the arrow buttons to select either Turn to Bypass or Turn Off UPS and press Enter. Then, select Yes to confirm or No to cancel, and press Enter to finalize your selection.
